By doing an in-home lifestyle newborn session you get the comfort of your own home! Having a newborn is an adjustment for the entire household. Of course, you want beautiful photos to document the details of this precious life you’ve added to the family, but getting ready and leaving the house can be a little daunting. Let me come to you! Probably the best part is the session is entirely newborn-led, meaning when they need to take a break, we take a break. When the newborn gets hungry we pause, if the baby needs to be changed they go into their own room and do what’s needed. You are not rushed for time.

What rooms are used for an in-home lifestyle newborn session?

The nursery and parents’ room are probably the two most popular rooms in the house during this type of session. Photojournalistic sessions tell a story with images. Details of the nursery are definitely a part of that story. We will incorporate special areas in your home to add meaning to your session. Morning is always best for little ones! Take lighting into account as well, when the sun is first spilling into your home is ideal.

Emma Jane is a perfect bundle of sweetness! I mean have you seen how she is a cherub in her mother’s arms with those crossed hands? Kelsey wanted to incorporate the booties and bow in a few photos. These precious images are some of my favorites from this in-home lifestyle newborn session. One of the elements I’m always keeping an eye out for is that everyone is touching someone in each photo. Joshua’s hands holding Emma Jane’s foot is the cherry on top that makes my heart melt in these photos.

A newborn session would not be complete without a few detailed shots of toes and baby wrinkles! Can I just shoot newborns every day, please?! Ug my heart!
